Odessa National Maritime University (ONMU)

Odessa National Maritime University (ONMU) – a multidisciplinary institution that trains specialists in all educational – qualifying levels (bachelors and masters) for the full staffing of sea and river industry. Taking into account national and international significance of the results of university activity and its important contribution to the development of education and science of the Presidential Decree of 26 February 2002, the University awarded the status of National. The university is accredited by the IV (highest) level of accreditation (certificate number 160365 from 07.07.04g.). License MES for the right to provide educational services to AB № 298735 from 06.02.06g. In 2003 ONMU successfully certified international quality management system ISO 9001: 2000 ONMU is a member of the Charter of European
universities (Magna Charta Universitatum, Italy); International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU, Japan); European University Association (EUA, Belgium); Of the Central European Initiative, which ONMU – Coordinator for Ukraine (SEІ, Italy); Southeast European Transport Research Forum (SETREF, Italy). Since 1995 ONMU participates in the Trans-European cooperation programs (TEMPUS – TACІS and CEI). Odessa National Maritime University trains personnel for the maritime industry to foreign countries since 1950. During this period, it has trained more than 1350 specialists for 73 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and America. In 1978 ONMU for training for Vietnam was awarded the Order of Vietnam “Friendship”. The University 7 faculties, 2 centers that train specialists for the maritime complex in 12 specialties and implement retraining.

Since its foundation Odessa National Maritime University is the only one in his vocation, purpose, organizational structure, arduous and glorious history, which is created by decades of its teachers and alumni. Our universities and is now known in Ukraine and abroad. ONMU rightfully occupies first place in the ranks of the founders of engineering and marine education.
